To be clear, place these on the weight-sensitive inside part of the trap. You'll only be able to get one nut or a few seeds on there or it will be too heavy to set the trap (the latch won't catch). When a mouse is in trap it's stressed out. Giving it something to eat helps calm it. Also if you can catch the mouse with only a pecan it's a breeze to clean the trap. If just a pecan doesn't work, then smear some peanut butter on trap. Be sure to also include a little something inside trap for the mouse once it's caught. Second, place trap along edge of wall. Mice like to hug the edges of walls as they move about. Third, check traps frequently and always first thing in morning. The longer they sit in trap, more stressed they get. When I've caught a mouse I immediately slide a pecan in there to calm them. Release in nature.
