Add a touch of history to your family den or library with these collectible antique bookends. The sculpted scene depicts General George Washington leading the soldiers of the Continental Army marching to the winter encampment at Valley Forge in 1777.
The bookends are in good antique condition, with a bit of rusty patina and paint that could be cleaned up. They are solid cast iron, probably about 75 years old, and have always been in my family. The artist’s name, G.S. Allen, is noted on the front, and the number 234 is on the back. The sculpture has very high relief and quality casting.
Please study all photos as part of the description and message me with any questions. Each bookend measures about 5.5" high x 5.5" wide x 2" deep. Michener books not included.
The weight of this pair is over 5 pounds so I cannot offer any shipping discounts.
