scammers sell non authentic bags here and tell that it's authentic. I'm cool with people sell non auth as long as they charge right price for non auth and tell the truth.But most bad sellers lie about that and overcharge for it. Almost all MCM non auth bags here cost like $20-30,but bad sellers charge $150- more, telling people that it's authentic.i don't think that's right for buyers.So I'm opening this listing to help people not to get cheated.You should check the item yourself before you buy.

hotboom @kccoast yes I hear you. I just can't stand for it as long as a big shopper of MCM and a seller of MCM. If someone sells replicas for reasonable price and doesn't lie about that , I understand. But lie people that it's authentic, when it's not and overcharge for it. I don't think that's right or fair. Those replicas cost like $20-30 then that scammer is selling them for $150~ more.

hotboom @kccoast I reported him/her as well. But I see Poshmark is bad to take care of authenticity. All sold MCM bags of my listings here were sold on Tradesy. They are pretty good to protect buyers and sellers about authenticity. But their fee is a little bit lower than Poshmark. So Poshmark should work harder for that.

hotboom @kccoast @kccoast Thanks and Yes, Tradesy is a lot better! They asked me for about my 2 bags for authenticity, because I bring rare styles from Korea most of the time. But I was happy that they really care to ensure a replica free market place. And after checked all my proofs, they allowed me to complete the sales. So I don't understand why Poshmark takes 20% fee, when they don't do anything about it.

That replica backpack costs $20 and that replica chain wallet costs nothing , maybe $3 ? (MCM doesn't even make it)

hotboom @babyjayg your bag looks new, but it's not authentic. Check all my listings, then you see how I know. Giving you simple tips. Screws on the logo plate must be flat, not sticking out, and can be separated when you unscrew it. And the logo plate never covers the logo patterns underneath. The logo patterns must be on the straight line with logo plate.

hotboom @babyjayg Easiest way to prove the bag is authentic is finding a white label which has item numbers & made in Korea on inside of the pocket of the bag. Don't get upset with me telling you that. But put yourself in their shoes. U trust the seller and buy it, believing it's authentic, then u find that it's not after u get it. Would u be happy with that? You know the reason why u blocked me, I don't even block u :)

They manufacturer made no effort to line up the patterns on the pieces of the bag. I don't even think it's leather. I would be PISSED if I paid over $200 and got that sent to me.

But can see what they are after I tell them it's fake. If the person really believe that and just heard that it's not authentic, they gonna be like "really? I didn't know that". But so far all of them just blocked me and kept saying it's authentic even though I gave the proofs. So we know they try to hurt people.

Maybe this is stretching it, but she should be able to FEEL that's it's not an authentic, expensive bag. Oh well. Thank you for doing what you can to help people avoid these scams. Sometimes people see a good deal, and they jump on it before really looking into it.

You know the person who it's intended for is eventually going to be really embarrassed when a friend or a store rep tells them it's fake. To make sure, you can ask the closer picture of the logo plate & the white label inside of the bag :) And one thing, if you pay $550 like the seller listed, it will ship to Poshmark headquarter first for an authenticity check. If it's authentic, they will ship it to you. Poshmark do it for listings over $500. So you don't have to worry .

hotboom @gabby7604 it seems to be authentic. Lather and patterns are fine. The big thing is engraved logo, numbers and fonts on the gold plate. They are sharp and clear in the picture the seller posted. And the white label inside of the bag looks fine as well. If you want to make sure more, ask her to show you the picture of the black paper tag. Not the black logo side, but the other side which has style number and made year of that model.

I buy MCM bags from department stores in Korea and the U.S or from them, Sungjoo company (it owns MCM). All my new bags had plastic on handles. So you shouldn’t distinguish authentic MCM by that plastic :)

hotboom @gabby7604 I can distinguish high-replica MCM as well. Leather, patterns, stitching, the white label, hardware ...etc these are basic. The key is the plate. Nobody can copy MCM’s technology to engrave fonts and logos yet :) fake still can’t get things engraved that sharp and clear on the logo plate. This should be hard for people. I’ve been using MCM so long and owns a lot of their bags and wallets. So I can just see the difference and recognize it.

hotboom @didi_closet when they just come out , they have plastic wraps on handles before goes to the store. But when they get into the stores (Like MCM stores in different department stores) , I believe that the stores have different way to manage the bags before sell or to sell. As other people think, some people think it’s not authentic, because of the plastic. So maybe the store take off the plastic on purpose.

That bag shouldn’t be $347.... there are only few MCM vintage models can still be sold.. most of vintage bags out there are kinda in trash condition or replicas ..to be honest :/

xo_jc @hotboom from everything that I’ve researched, it all looks legit. But the gold hardware looks like it was some wear and tear mostly on the hooks where they meet the bag. The bag seems stiff. Not sure if it’s because it hasn’t been used much.

hotboom @xo_jc yes, just checked it. It seems to be authentic. And check the white label inside of the little pocket inside of the bag. You can see the style number on it :) you don’t have to worry. I haven’t seen any fake Milla tote yet. Guess because most people want bags to show MCM patterns outside of the bag. Most people don’t want to buy milla or Ella MCM bags unless they really love and know MCM.

hotboom @xo_jc because that strap is made of fabric and the bag is used. So guess some sign of wear on it. And metal part as well. If you use it often, it gets old. It depends on the owner. How carry or manage the bag. I have a hundred of MCM bags for myself. And some models have the same strap and been a years. But mine still looks clean.

She keeps saying that it’s authentic because of serial number but I know that most replicas have a serial number. hotboom @timaerag the old one seems to be authentic. That was from more than 15 years ago. MCM is Korean brand. So has to be said ‘Made in Korea’ now. But that model is made before we (Korea) took the company so it says Made in Germany. And Black Patricia wallet photos.. I can’t really see them clearly. Before that, there’s another plastic covers underneath that plastic cover of the hardware in the front in the pic?

amaye2tam @hotboom Just received an MCM Visetos Lion Boston Princess bag bought through Poshmark for $250. The bag looks well made and had a nice soft almost suede-like lining. The bayleaves check out as does the logo pattern and hardware. My concern is that there is no metal plate on the outside of the bag with a serial number. There is a small gold plate inside the bag just under the interior zipper pocket. Plate has bayleaf logo and Munchen but no serial number. Should I be concerned?

The seller states “no sign of wear” But I see that the stitch came off next to the zipper, and leather is faded as well on the corner of the zipper pocket in the front. I’m sure then bottom corners might be faded also. Sellers should be honest about the condition.

These are some simple tips which can help anyone as long as there are many poor replicas. There are more tips to distinguish. But it won’t work for people, because those tips are pretty hard to know. So the best way is buying from department stores like you said. If they ask me for authenticity of MCM bags, I still help though :)

hotboom @milankp that’s not the same model. They are different models. Compare metals on a strap in the front. And the logo plate with a serial numbers. Your bag has it inside of the bag and this bag has it outside on the bag. Your bag is a different model. So I let you know your bag’s plate outside of the bag should have black glaze in it.

MCM store and website sell it for $725+tax. So you can guess on the price you paid for it. The leather of your bag is... totally different from their authentic leather. And mini Bebe boo’s style number is ‘MMK5SVE92’ , the white tag must have these numbers on it.

He went back and forth with me and when I pointed out the difference on the hardware he claimed it to be a scratch or glare. hellothreads question! I have an Mcm bag that checks all the marks you posted on this listing , except one thing...the interior zipper on the zipper pocket looks like it has " yes" engraved on the arm/handle looking area. the other zipper has "ykk" absolutely everything else checks off as authentic! any idea on this?

ritachkas @hotboom Do you know if the serial number always have to have one of the numbers with underscore? Also, I noticed some serial with 4 digits first and then letter following and some with letter first and then followed by 4 digits. Are all those sequences valid? Thanks.

hotboom @ritachkas Hi :) most MCM serial number includes one number with under score. But old models, some models authentic MCM don’t have underscore. So you shouldn’t distinguish MCM authenticity with just the serial numbers. Because letter can come first and later as well. You can check my post about authenticity. One of those example photos, authentic one doesn’t have Letter or number with underscore, replica does. 🤣

hotboom @ritachkas also you should check all my listings I’ve sold. They are all authentic from the store or MCM company in Korea. You can learn about MCM products with all detail photos I posted! Have to take a look how fonts are engraved and the tag inside, model numbers, leather, patterns and hardware.. etc. should take a look everything on the bag.

pinkrabbit12 @hotboom I need help here ladies. I bought MCM mini bag and the gold plated MCM logo with 5 digits I thought the authentic bag always starts with a letter and then the 4 numbers. And the one I bought was all numbers.
