No chips, cracks, or scratches. This was an estate sale item that appears to have never been used and includes the opened box. At first glance I thought the infuser had a rip in the steel mesh. On closer inspection there was just an excess of material that slightly folded over itself during production. It could be considered a manufacturing flaw, but this should not affect its usability.
