Very tall Henry Cuir boots that look unworn. 16" high shaft. Luminous.
I purchased second-hand only to realize that they are way too narrow for my calves. A slender leg is needed. The top of the shaft is about 14 inches.
You will also notice the distressed hides on the shaft.
Here's what I know about that.
My cobbler is an old-world creator of Mexican-style cowboy boots from exotic hides. I asked if he could cut the shaft down to a lower height so I could get me leg into it. "Don't do it," he said.
Can you put a zipper in them? "No."
Are the hides flawed, or did a previous owner damage the leather by trying to stretch it? "It is a natural variation in the hide. Best thing to do is to downplay it by polishing with dark brown cream."
I conditioned and polished the leather, and they do look smoother. They should continue to soften with care. Of course, "distressed" is an appealing look for some. But I can't we
The lateral (outward-facing) sides of both boots are the best matched. The medial side of the right boot is the most textured. It will be noticeable when you stride.
Sexy pink leather lining.
Given the length of the shaft, I would need a periscope to read the label on the insole, but it's probably Henry Cuir for Barneys New York.
Pair weighs about 2.5 pounds.
I cannot report on the footbed sizing. Placing my 7M foot with wide toe box against the sole, it looks like it would fit me, with a little extra length in the toe--which I'd consider a 7.5.
