I have taken some time to view other's closets first to get a feel of understanding on how this all works. It is a bit confusing. **Like: 1. Should I be first going the Post Office to get different sized boxes? If so, what are the norm sizes to get for Coats, Dresses and Jewelry? 2. Should I also be getting Delivery Confirmation Labels to add to Shipments...or should I just stick with what Posh offers as Label? I think those are the most important things to know, right? lol

@minastudio You're so welcome Mina.. It warms my heart to know you feel welcomed.. @styled (💋Besos Bella💋) you're the best. Ok dear to answer your question. #1 yes. I say stock up on different sized boxes. They don't necessarily have to be from the post office. They can be any kind of boxes, but if you do get some at the PO get the priority kind in different sizes. Free you shouldn't have to pay for those.. I would also get the yellow bubbled envelope mailers for the small items (like scarfs, jewelry, thin shirts). I always send a thank you card and a free gift with every purchase. I try to get gift that are useful like chap sticks, a little set of nail kit. Just simple things that are usable.. That's just what I do.. You don't have to.. The main thing is to protect the item well.. You want your buyer to receive the item exactly like they saw it in your photos.. Also just stick to the labels posh supplies you.. There's no need to get other ones.. You just print and tape it on your package. 😊

People that don't know you will see that and it will make it easier for them to decide to buy from you if you have positive feedback.. No problem Mina. NO. The boxes don't HAVE to be from the post office. If you go to the post office yeah sure stock up have some handy.. But if you order something online and the box is in great shape just remove all labels and reuse.📦 2) Yes. You can google feedback images and take a screenshot with your phone.. Find a picture that fits your style. I will tag you in the one I have in my closet just so you can see it. 3)yes.. I send a gift with all purchases.. I don't advertise it, I just do it to say thanks for choosing to purchase from me. I feel it seals the whole sale. That's just my opinion, but I'm a giver..if you do get gifts just make sure they're not liquid. You're welcome. Anything I can do to make you're experience a smooth one I will.. Tag me when you've loaded items so I can share them.. 😊😘

Thank you! Yeah, took me a while, when I started, to figure out you had to share and follow and not just closets you like. It's all about exposure... And I liked it so much, I got licensing for WasabiGirl. It also happened at a time I had a crazy stalker loser on here with nothing better to do than cause trouble so Posh allowed a name change. Yep, you get all kinds of people on here. Most are really cool and some are just downright scammers with nothing else better to do. 😉

Hey Mina, I'm a new posher too. I've had 2 host pics and sold more than $200 in a little over a month. I'll share a few tips with you that I learned on my own. I call them
📡 RONDASEE'S OCD POSHMARK TIPS FOR NEWCOMERS 📡
1. There are some Poshers who love drama. Stay away. Don't follow them, don't share their closets. You can look under a seller's feedback and get an idea. Another way I found, when you're browsing through closets, when you see an item with 125 posts attached, check it out.
You might find out who's naughty and who's nice. The feedback post is a good place to find valuable customers because those are people who BUY and COMMENT. When I first started, I was all about followers and getting followed. Honestly you don't NEED to be followed by people who only sell baby clothes and fake purses. You don't have to waste a lot of time checking out a person's closet to determine if you should follow them. When someone follows me, I usually go to their closet and take a quick glance. You can tell a lot from what they write at the top, if they say they take Paypal which is against PM rules, or if their first few items are junk. I don't need people like that. People selling $3 used bras are probably not going to be your key customers, so why waste your time following them or sharing their closet?!
2 if you are selling stuff you bought pretty recently, check online to see what it's selling for now. Or look on other sites that sell clothing. I see a lot of closets with tons of merchandise sitting because the Posher is asking close to full price. Meanwhile on the Banana Republic website, or wherever, it's been marked down 70%. You have to know your competition. If you have a rare item you can mark it up. But most new items aren't rare regardless of what the description says. 😜
3. Use those retail websites for your photos. If you are selling an item you bought from Zara and Zara has a photo online, it's probably going to look 10 times better than your pic of a dress on a wire hanger. Of course you should add pics of your own as verification that you own the garment you are trying to sell.
As a for instance, I'm selling a dress that's black and I could NOT get the tiered fabric to show up in the photo. But the store's website has a great pic. They also had measurements too.
4. Don't just write "pretty dress with ruffles" in the description. (Unless it's a $5 dress. I've seen gals write a novel about a worn out pair of Payless sandals. Wish I had their free time. 😜)
Write what can't be seen in the photos. Are there pockets? Will I need a slip? I have a bad habit of writing "my" sentimental history of an item. The seller wants to know what that item can do to make her happy. If there are flaws, mention them, but don't be all depressing. I love how the expert Poshers focus on the redeeming qualities, rather than write on and on about the dog's teeth marks on the shoe.
5. Study the closets of the people who are selling the brands you are selling, and people who have a lot of sales. (That's the red "Sold" sign. You can't trust when someone says they sold it elsewhere.) Look and see how much she negotiated. Did she drop her prices a lot, or refuse to budge? What do her 1st photos look like? What do her headlines say? Who is liking her listings? Follow them. Who is buying? Follow them, too.
6. Share, but share smart. Share items that are standouts. I share generously if someone has a good, rule-following closet. But ... I don't care if someone shares 15 of my items, if their closet is a mess, or filled with clothes that I don't consider good deals, I don't share. When I share, it's because it's worthy. Otherwise I'm
not being good to my followers, who are my potential customers.
7. If you are buying, don't just read the seller's feedback post. Look under "sold" items to see if the seller sent items out quickly. I've not bought more than a few times because I've seen sellers making excuses after the sale when buyers ask "Where's my stuff?" The dog is sick, their kid has soccer practice, etc etc. Life happens, but if you see a pattern of chronic lateness or "forgetting" to ship, steer clear. Poshmark attracts a lot of women with gorgeous clothes who want to get rid of them, but it also attracts lazy people who can post listings but can't get their fannies to the post office to mail the package.
I am a consumer advocacy journalist so I hope my tone is not too preachy. I am totally a Poshmark addict. It is a fascinating online world. Best of luck to you. Or, as we say, happy Poshing! 💜💜💜💜
