I never thought I’d believe in haunted objects—until Raggedy Ann. I inherited her from my great-aunt, who was one of those women who never married, lived alone. The doll had belonged to her since childhood, and when she passed, it came to me in a box labeled “DO NOT OPEN AT NIGHT.” I opened it around midnight. The moment I did, the room got weirdly cold. She looked innocent enough—worn red yarn hair, black button eyes, soft cloth body. But the eyes... they always felt like they were watching. I could never get them to look quite the same in photos, either—they’d reflect light oddly. I started waking up around 3:30 AM every night. No noise. Just a strong feeling—like someone was standing in the room watching me. One night, I found the doll in the hallway, sitting upright. Then things got weirder. I’d hear soft tapping on the walls—always three taps in a row. Electronics would glitch out around her. A Bluetooth speaker turned on by itself and played static for a full minute before dying. One morning, I found the words "Play with me" scratched faintly into the fogged-up mirror in the bathroom. I saged my house, I said prayers. Nothing worked. I don’t think the doll wants to hurt anyone. I do think she wants attention. She wants to be noticed. And if you ignore her for too long… well, let’s just say she finds ways to make herself known. If you’re a collector of haunted or spiritual items, she’s definitely active. I’m not joking. Take her, if you dare.
