Hand-painted Round Trinket Box Mexican Gecko Folk Art Origin

A small, lidded container typically used for holding jewelry or small keepsakes. The box is primarily black and features vibrant, hand-painted design of blue and green tropical leaves. A small, yellow and black gecko figure is attached to the top of the lid as a decorative element. Pre-owned in typical vintage condition. There are a few flea bites here and there, but not enough to take away from its beauty. Approximate measurements: 3.5" tall x 4.5" round NOTE: I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS IS MADE OUT OF. I DON'T THINK IT'S POTTERY. I JUST KNOW THAT IT'S EYE-CATCHING COLORS MAKE THIS AN ADORABLE BOX, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GECKO SITTING ON TOP.
