Handmade scrap patchwork quilt

Often called a "Brick Yard," or rectangular block quilt. Rectangles are sewn end-to-end to create horizontal rows. Each row is offset by half a block relative to the rows above and below it, perfectly mimicking traditional brick masonry. This is a quintessential scrap quilt, likely made using leftover fabrics from garment sewing, older quilts, or upcycled clothing items like plaid shirts and blouses.
