Handmade Sheer Ukrainian Robe

One very unusual folk style tie-front robe or jacket with beautiful multi-colored floral embroidery and full, blouson sleeves. The lady who owned this was Ukrainian so I'm guessing it's done in a style unique to that culture. There are no labels or tags present. It is made of a sheer, layered polyester fabric which appears hand-embroidered on the bishop sleeves with flowers in a colorful folk pattern. There are no closures as it only ties at neck with long ties. There was a snap closure at one time but it is gone on one side. I could see this billowing out behind someone as they rode a horse. (She also owned horses and competed in dressage!) I love the stories behind vintage garments and if some of these pieces could speak, wow!! Hem is not sewn but just cut and rolled. Would accommodate a variety of sizes but measurements are: 20" armpit/pit; 22" sleeve length & 32" in length. Excellent condition without any stains, odors or tears. A truly unique and dramatic piece for your collection!
