Handmade Dichroic Glass Pin/Pendent by Nancy and David Geddes Artists Lavender/pink/iridescent Approx. 1.5" long/1.25" High This piece can either be used as a pin or add a chain and make into a necklace. At Geddes Studio we fuse together dichroic and colored glass to create a unique line of jewelry, beads and sculptures. Dichroic glass was revitalized in the 90"s by the aerospace industry for use in the star was program. Each piece of dichroic glass has three distinct colors: one, when light is transmitted straight through, and a second when light is transmitted at a 45 degree angle and the third when all the light is reflected. This phenomenon is the result of vapor deposition of thin layer coatings of non-conducting metal oxides and results in luminescence, illusion, depth and spectacular color. New without tags.
