What is a Mapuche Trutruka?
The Trutruka is a traditional wind instrument of the Mapuche culture, known for its strong and resonant sound, used in ceremonies, rituals and festivities. There are several versions of this ancestral instrument, one of them being the Trutruka Circular , known in Mapudungun as Lonkü or Lonkin . This version is characterized by being rolled in a circular shape, which makes it easy to handle and transport, without losing the sound depth that distinguishes it.

The Trutruka Circular that we offer is handcrafted by Mapuche communities in Arauco, using traditional and modern materials:
The body of the instrument is constructed from PVC tube , a durable and resistant material, decorated with colored wool thread , which adds beauty and authenticity.
The embouchure is made from a blunted bovine horn , which gives it its distinctive sound. The horn is attached to the tube with wool threads, ensuring a solid and stable structure.
Its 18-inch (45 cm) diameter provides a deep sound, ideal for traditional ceremonies and ritual music.
