This is an 8" hand-turned ash snowman, likely North American hobbyist/pro turner (the English species label and style point that way). The burned initials “RKU” are the maker’s signature; the pen inscription “ASH” is common shop practice. The base shows a center point and stress checks (drying cracks) typical of air-dried ash. Hat looks dyed/painted with an ebonized band; features are burned/painted. I see on tiny crack in the base that I can see light thru. I took a picture of it.
