This is an early version of the Red Wing Provincial Ardennes green chop plate. The pattern, named "Ardennes" after a province in France, was introduced in 1941 as part of the Provincial shape dinnerware line. It features a band of green leaves on a white or cream-colored background.
This specific version was discontinued by 1946 and is distinct from a re-introduced version in 1949 which had a lighter background and solid-colored hollow ware.
