Vintage Hand knotted Red and Black Murano Millefiori Glass Bead Choker Necklace This classic Italian Millefiori bead necklace measures 16 inches. The beads are all 8mm, each with a brass filigree bead cap. These beads are actually all black glass beads with flatted Millefiori red beads layered on - a Millefiori technique. There is a gold tone barrel clasp. Millefioro (multicolored glass) is also called "A Thousand Flowers." Millefiori style Murano glass beads are made with handmade glass canes, each containing an individual pattern of various design and color, from star, round, and flower shapes. Murano Glass is the same as Venetian Glass but made on the island of Murano. Murano glassworks are only produced in the island of Murano, Italy. Murano is not a brand name, it is a physical location.
