This vintage 1970 hand hammered solid Copper vessel in classic water jug design has been in my vintage copper collection since 2004 when I myself purchased it from a vendor in Bangalore, India It’s non glazed, and it has no silver/tin inlining, it’s of pure copper and it has been tested. It has patina as it suppose to. I myself used it a lot to drink copper infused water. Copper patina can be easily removed with simple electrolysis by vinegar, salt and aluminum folio. Size 6 1/4 H x 3 1/2 W inch It’s very thick 1/8 inch wall and heavy, it weighs 312g 11oz It has no marking, this outlines non mass production rather an one-off piece made by small or single man smith shop Forged by a single piece of copper without any brazing or soldering. The classic design lets the vessel stand upside down in perfect balance by the neck opening and the handle, Also the special angle of the protruding side wall is designed to stop sediments and solids collected at the bottom of the jug enter the cup while pouring. These are the main characteristics of the highest quality water jugs produced by the Greek and Byzantium blacksmiths from centuries ago.
