The paint is acrylic which holds great on clothing items, it has been mixed with a fabric medium for extra strength. The shorts will be heat-set to help further strengthen. Washing: avoid washing after every wear. Only wash in cold water, inside out, and either air dry or gently tumble them alone. Like anything on fabric, it can start to fade or crack over time.
