Japanese Imari was produced during the Meiji period, late 19th century, and is a style of porcelain made in the Arita area of the former Hizen Province. The characteristics of Imari are brightly colored designs often featuring underglaze blue, with overglaze enamels in red, gold, and sometimes other colors like black and green. Most designs are of intricate florals, patterns, birds, and sometimes geometric designs, which often cover the entirety of the surface. The item exhibits minimal signs of wear due to age and use; however, it is free of chips, cracks, breaks, and repairs. The item is sold as is and as described herein. Please review all photos, keeping in mind that lighting and color can vary from screen to screen, and make all inquiries before purchasing. Sold items ship within one (1) business day - unless I am dealing with a hurricane.
