Hand Carved Solid Teak Wooden Divided Serving Dish Made in Thailand 1960s 1970s

This hand- carved solid teak wooden divided serving dish from Thailand in the 1960s-1970s has seven sections, making it useful as well as beautiful. (William Morris would approve!) 9 3/4-inches in diameter, it is ideal for serving small snacks or as a twist on the charcuterie board. Teak, commonly known as Tekgu, has been an important species in Thailand since ancient times. It's very durable, with rich tones and a distinctive grain. There are very few remaining natural teak trees in Thailand and now they are managed by government agencies. That unfortunate history makes platters like this rare and collectible.
