Hand Beaded and Sewn Beaded Bag/Purse wit Tortoise Shell Frame Antique Victorian

An exquisite example of early 20th century fashion. This antique beaded bag is in very good condition for it's age, no tears or major frays. See close up of a few missing beads on one corner and the beaded handle. The tortoise shell frame has two small marks around the latch. The latch works well by pushing the button. The frame is not attached at the bottom and is missing a 1" piece. However, it still opens fine. The lining has been replaced with a rust colored cotton fabric and is hand sewn in. (see photos) This was made anywhere from the 1890s to the 1910s. It's got a well executed, large single flower design on both sides. The fringe is in great shape and gives the bag nice movement. 6 3/4" wide, the bag itself is 8 1/2" long, with the handle and beaded fringe, it's about 16". *All measurements approximate **Found in England in the 1980s
