Hallmark Keepsake Horse Carousel Tree Ornament or Table Display Dated 1992

Beautiful Vintage Hallmark Keepsake Horse Carousel with dual use as a Tree Ornament or Table Display, Dated 1992, Signed Tobin Fraley. First of four, in the Tobin Fraley Carousel Series. Tobin Fraley is a renowned authority on Carousels. The fine porcelain horse is in new condition, is approximately 5 1/2" tall from the top of the base to the round ring at the top and about 3 3/4" wide. The base is 3 1/2" long by 2" wide. The brass stand is showing some signs of age, with minor scratches and discoloration dots on one side. Box has a few creases and other normal signs of wear. The horse is intricately sculpted and painted by hand. The brass stand is signed by Tobin Fraley. This first edition is based on the style of carver Charles Carmel. Tobin Fraley spent a lifetime restoring and studying graceful carousel horses and his ornaments are fashioned in the styles of American master carvers, whose works appeared on carousels between 1895 and 1925.
