Large, classically decorated in "Lowestoft" style in restrained enamels with nice gilt accents and gilded rim. This famille rose is an interpretation of early Chinese Exports to Europe and the US suited for their western tastes of the period versus the busier famille rose/canton/mandarin styles than came later. The hues of pink range from soft pink, amaranth to fuchsia and hot magenta! The green leaves range from light neon to dark green. There are turquoise and blue grape blossoms as accents here and there. The hot pink borders both inside and outside the rim feature a fish scale pattern. Even the narrow foot ring is decorated in pink blossom swags!
This pattern is extremely similar to a bowl in the Winterthur Museum collection that was made in Jingdezhen circa 1750-80!
The overglaze enamels are in excellent shape and are tactile.
Excellent for display alone or with fruit or jade/crystal flowers!
FINE, AFFORDABLE example of Chinese Export Famille Rose!
