This is a vintage 1970s Arnel's Green Ceramic Neoclassical Planter Urn! This green, gold and black hand painted ceramic urn style planter features a beautiful neoclassical design with three different panel scenes on the exterior! Each scene is framed with a rope design and features classically dressed people doing activities like playing the loot, strolling, etc. Neoclassical is a style that refers to a revival of the classics and it literally means "new classicism." It originated in Europe in the 1750s after the discovery of ancient Greek and Roman archaeological sites. A spectacular piece with lots of detail! Would make a perfect vase or planter; inside is glazed ceramic. Bottom marked with manufacturer's name "Arnel's." Lid is not included.
