lilshelbsyo When you say leather are you referring to the handles? The rest of the bag is canvas. The color of the handles and quality of them looks off to me. And the font is wrong on the datecode. Could you post a picture of the little leather tab on the pocket? Also the material the bag is lined in looks fake. Did you say your friend sold you this? :( that's so sad

lilshelbsyo Also the date code TM 8497. TM refers to the factory in which the bag was made. I've never heard of that code for a LV location. And 8497 means it was made the 89 month (or week) depending on the year in the year 47. This bag is obviously not from 1947. I'm so sorry this is so sad for you :( maybe she didn't know it was fake. Some people are naive and really think they have an Authentic bag when it's not. There really isn't a specific way to tell you how to always look and know if you have an authentic piece or not though. Always get a second opinion and always get a third opinion after that. There are sites you can post on and get people that have been authenticating for years. Example would be thepurseforum.com. Or you can pay a small fee (I think no more than 20 dollars) and get an "expert" to authenticate it. 20 dollars isn't a lot to me if I'm going to be paying 500+. At least then you know it won't be fake and get scammed out of your money.

lcalderon75 @lilshelbsyo here is a pic of the tag on the pocket. Well when I bought it, my friend swore up and down it was authentic and she got it from her sister, who only buys authentic brands. Not sure whether to say anything g from her or just suck it up because I made the decision to buy it. 😣😣

nmichadine LV wraps the material on the outside so on one side the logo is the right side up and on the other side the logo is upside down. Thats one hint. The other would be the date on the inside. Also f you have the authenticity card, you can call an LV shop and ask them to verify the certificate number is authentic. Good luck and i hop that it is authentic, nothing worth than spending your hard earned money only to find out you were cheated. Let me know if you need more tips.
