HAND MADE "KASHMIR, INDIA ANCESTRY" PAPER MACHE ROUND TRINKET BOX WITH LID PRE-OWNED IN GREAT CONDITION The box was made in India, in the Kashmir region. In Kashmir, they have been making boxes like this since the 15th century. The are boxes are fashioned using paper mache and weeping willow wood techniques, then lacquered, and finally the design is painted by hand. The design is a chinar leaf motif in orange & black. Made in India. NOTE: There is a v notched (Picture 2) in the base and the lid. I don't know what that is intended for.
