This Halston Heritage chiffon blouse is très elegant featuring an ethereal angel sleeve. The bared shoulder adds an alluring touch - the gossamer fabric is light-as-air and is equally stunning when dressed down with jeans or paired with a flowing charmeuse evening trouser or slim suiting. Fashion-forward yet eternally classic, that’s the hallmark, the true heritage that Halston left for us to treasure for decades yet to follow.

@ellielgould Perfectly said - spot on! 🌟
I can just see Pat Cleveland floating down the runway in the Battle for Versailles show of ‘73, wearing this exact silhouette in a solid color gown version - one of his most classic and utterly iconic designs! His vision was so incredibly modern for the time, sleek and easy to wear, with undeniable elegance. It retains that air of futuristic and understated elegance to this very day. Remarkable. 💕🤗💕

@ellielgould I’d be delighted for you to attribute my comments. I’ll give you my name so you can credit. I’d love to follow you (I’m completely inactive on IG, but I did start an account as so many friends of mine insisted...so...you’ll see...NO posts from me yet...but tons of people from the fashion industry!) 🤗

@ellielgould Some fab fashion documentary films, in case you haven’t seen them all: “Vreeland’s The Eye Has to Travel”, “Bill Cunningham New York”, “The Battle at Versailles”, “Iris”, (and Iris’s autobiographical book: “Accidental Icon”), “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman”
( ...and the book of the same title), “The September Issue”, “Dries”. and “The True Cost”... off the top of my head, these are all must sees! 🤗

@ellielgould Have you considered starting a fashion blog so that you can focus on writing about what you love? Fashion history would be awesome, in addition to your thoughts on what’s happening today, within any niche milieu that interests you.

@ellielgould The more you get the hang of your blog you may eventually decide to include interviews with various people within the industry, i.e.: emerging designers, fashion photographers, fashion editors, niche artisans, etc...

@ellielgould F.I.T. has an awesome museum that’s open to the public. You could investigate all manner of historical gems there (and perhaps gain access to the library that’s attached...great archives!)

@ellielgould You could link your fashion blog to your burgeoning Instagram so your readers can check out items that you’re selling (some of the things that you have for sale may relate to what you’re writing about at times.). Conversely, those who are flipping through your Instagram account can follow the link back over to your fashion blog and start to read your editorials. That’s what Omnichannel marketing is all about. Linking your channels of connectivity..

@ellielgould It could evolve into a great way to develop and expand upon your customer base. You can inspire and concurrently solicit new clients via relationships built as they follow both your written thoughts on fashion as well as your visuals for sale.
You can make it clear that you’re also available for personal styling services...and lastly...you could take it to the third channel, YouTube, sometime in the bot-too-distant future.

@ellielgould Personally, I think the next step for online closet sales will be on YouTube. It’s being used to market everything else (and you can bet that Poshmark and eBay will soon be on YouTube, so why wait?)
You can monetize both your blog page and any future channels. That’s the way to start thinking, to grow your personal business, think an omnichannel approach for the big picture...across the board, in essence. Not one source. You’re going to kill it, Ellie!!👏👏👏👏🥳

@ellielgould Hey, Ellie! Just reading your notes above...amazing that you went to FIT, too! I kept it in the family...my son went off to study philosophy and neuroscience in Washington (the state) and here I am , proud of course, but thinking, damn, he’s gonna settle out there one day, 3k miles from NY! * sos* Out of the blue one day, about two years later, he’s home on break and it’s clear he wants to tell me something but doesn’t want to upset me...

@ellielgould ...so, I’m encouraging him to just let it out, just tell me. No matter what it is we’ll figure it out together.
Mom, seriously, you’re gonna be disappointed cuz you spent so much money in sending me out to Washington...but...uhm...(and still I’m hearing a baby is on the way

@ellielgould ...and my mind is racing, yet oddly, somehow already at peace with it, thinking of names! 🤦🏻♀️🤣
Errrr, uhmmm...how would you feel if I went to school in the City? I miss NY, it’s where I belong. (Wherein he excitedly proceeds to outline the easy process of transferring, thinking he actually had to SELL me on the notion!!!🤣😂🤣😂)

@ellielgould All the while my inner monologue is singing a happy tune, dancing off the ceiling, redeemed! I HAD raised him properly after all, to appreciate NY and stay true to his non-granola roots! I’m doing an inner Elaine Benes (from Seinfeld)) dance of joy in my head, while I’m the epitome of cool and neutral support on the outside::

@ellielgould “well if it’s reeeaaallllky what you think is best...(so as not to freak him out, lest he retreat!
“Hey, I’m cool with whatever you decide, but I know how much you love it out there so carefully weigh the benefits of living in both places...just take a few weeks to think about it.”
But truly, I could’ve put Julia Louis-Dreyfus out of a job.
😂🤣🙏 💥

@ellielgould And the real clincher comes now... totally out of left field!
“So, where were you thinking of transferring to hon?”
Drumroll, puhleeeeze...

Happy Happy 🎶 Joy Joy ( 🎶 you know that incredibly silly dance?! Well. just like Elaine from Seinfeld, it is meant to be done inside ones head at all times, lest you desire immediate admittance into your local psychiatric ward.) But dancing? Throwing caution to the wind, it was plentiful. It came from a place outside of my control! Couldn’t be helped. 😂🤣🎶 🎨

@ellielgould ...and so the story evolves from there...he worked with emerging designers, showed his designer for the collections in Paris (even walked the runway at NY Fashion Week when he was there helping to put the show together. Terence was involved in all aspects including casting, yet the designer insisted he appear in the show as well! Who knows, you may be neighbors in Bklyn! 🤷🏻♀️

@ellielgould So thank you Ellie, 🙏 for your kind words. I was just sort of spitballing..ideas were flowing off tho top of my head, and they landed on my tiny screen without my reading glasses, just texting snippets of thought strings. one letter at a time (I’m the worst texter... I belong in the Jurassic period!! 🦕!) Not as cohesive or eloquent had it been on an actual two-handed keyboard and with a screen that I could actually see.

@ellielgould But if it can help to serve as a loose sketch or forecast, great! Take what makes some degree of sense and toss all the rest! 🤗 With your eclectic, profoundly and richly layered essence of gifts, its time to weave them all together and share, well...the tapestry that is Ellie, with tout le monde! 💕💕💕

@lillylife Trish, so great to hear from you! Besides an encyclopediac knowledge of all things Lilly, your eye for vintage treasures is innately rooted, as witnessed by the dress that brought us together years ago...I was originally drawn to your closet by the striking beauty of that shimmering Mondrian-esque cocktail dress of yours! Do you recall? 🤗💕🌟
