These Rare, Mid-Century Sterling Starburst Earrings by Guglielmo Cini are works of art. The Italian jewelry designer from Florence settled in Boston in 1922, where he set up a shop. His company flourished and he expanded, making Laguna Beach, CA. his headquarters in 1957. He was known for his designs made of Silver and Gold. Beginning in the early 50’s he used art glass imitating natural stones. These earrings have a clear glass center, surrounded by radiating metal “spikes”, giving them a starburst appearance. The starburst design was popular in the mid-20th century, reflecting the era’s fascination with space and atomic themes. (The shorter “spikes” are at the top of the earrings.) They measure just a hair over one inch long and a hair under one inch wide. EUC. Clasps are in good working order, holding the earlobes securely without pinching. Both earrings are stamped “Cini Sterling”. I will be happy to polish these to perfection for you before shipping.
