This vintage "Greetings from New Jersey" large letter postcard features a composite of various scenes from the state within each letter, including what appears to be a ship, a beach with a pier, buildings, and a bridge. The bottom of the card depicts a woman sunbathing with a child. The back of the postcard provides a "KEY TO VIEWS ON FACE" which includes Ocean Pier and Boardwalk, Wildwood; Convention Hall, Atlantic City; Beach and Convention Hall, Wildwood; Battle Monument, Trenton; Duck Farm Vineland; Chapel and Nassau Hall, Princeton; Old Barracks and Washington's Crossing, Trenton; College for Women and Rutgers University, New Brunswick; and Phila. Bridge and Bird's-Eye View, Camden. It's a "GENUINE CURTEICH-CHICAGO 'C.T. ART-COLORTONE' POST CARD" and was published by "LYNN H. BOYER, JR., WILDWOOD, N. J." The postcard has a "PLACE ONE CENT STAMP HERE" box and is marked 1B-H219. It bears a legible postmark from JUN 17 6PM 1939 from Nye, Texas, and is addressed to Mrs. Elsie Hawbecker in Clear Spring, Maryland. There's a handwritten message: "My! what warm weather here. Hope it is cooler in Maryland. Love, Juneth Mrs. Porter Watson Nye, Texas." This is a charming piece of New Jersey and postal history, perfect for collectors.
