An antique line engraving from a series of views of Kent .
Engraved by J. Carter. Published by Tombleson & Co. Circa 1835 with hand-painted coloring added later. This is solely based on my research, I encourage you to do your own.
I tried my best to zoom in the glass, but there will be a bit of reflection. You should be able to see the hand-painted nature.
Surrounding the hospital vista are two angels and two lions, decorative columns, and a crown.
Frame width 11.275 inches (so a little over 11.15 inches)
Frame height 9 inches
Cannot attest to the mounting method inside the frame - whether the block / line print is loose or adhered.
Has a hanging wire connected to two eye-hooks on back. Frame is NOT antique, just the print.
Paper in the back isn't perfect. Indented near top corners. Was professionally framed in Mobile, AL. The only other copy of this print I've found online is being sold in England. This was most likely a souvenir a family wanted to protect. I really like it. I do a good bit of staring at the things I list, and I've come to appreciate the vivid colors they used to hand-paint the print & the detailed line drawing surrounding the hospital.
