@havefaith28 9 inches flat. 18 inch circumference. The band is stretchy but because it is merino if it is to loose you can shrink it some if you carefully dry it in a drier. Just slightly dampen it than put in the drier in 5 minute intervals.

@havefaith28 cotton wouldn't work well for a hat because it doesn't have memory like wool does (or acrylic ) Cotton would stretch and never go back to its original size.
