OOAK Handmade Hanging Driftwood Goddess Salacia
Salacia Roman Goddess and Sea Nymph Salacia, wife of Neptune, has the power to calm rough seas and storms. Although her name is derived from the Latin word for salt, "Sal", representing the salty waters, she is also the goddess of springs. The literal word "Salacia" can be translated as "sensational".
This lovely piece of driftwood has been sanded and treated. I used Lumiere paints in different tones. Her serene face is sculpted with clay.
She is adorned with OOAK shrink plastic flowers made by me, acrylic leaves, pearls, Miyuki, opaque Picasso turquoise blue seed beads, Czech Aged 11's seed. 100% wool for hair, backed with soft Italian leather and measures approximately 6 1/2 tall from top to bottom.
