Vintage Glass Dessert Bowl featuring a fruit design. Possibly from the 1970s. Likely used to serve fruit, pudding, ice cream and other small desserts. Bottom of the cup reads PIREFRAX and N5 embossed in it. There are 3 tiny chips that I completely overlooked on this. It was only when I ran my fingers along the rim of the glass I felt them. One photo I posted I am holding the glass and u can see my 3 fingers through the glass at the top where my fingers are is were the chips are located. That is the only call out. Refer to all photos.
PIREFRAX was a Brazilian manufacturer known for producing glassware similar to Pyrex glassware. It is heat-resistant like Pyrex. PIREFRAX likely employed Borosilicate glass in its manufacturing, a material known for its superior thermal shock resistance and ability to stand high-temperatures without cracking or shattering.
Precaution: Avoid extreme and Sudden temperature changes, such as placing a very hot dish on a cold, wet surface as this can still lead to thermal shock and breakage, even with Borosilicate glass.
