German incense smoker, also known as a Räuchermann. These traditional wooden figurines are a popular Christmas decoration from the Ore Mountains region of Germany. The figurine is made of two parts that fit together. An incense cone is placed inside the hollow base, and the top part is placed over it. When the incense cone is lit, the smoke travels up through the figurine and exits through a hole, often the mouth, making it appear as if the figure is smoking.
