Genuine Vintage Amana Colonies Iowa Ceramic/Wood Trivet 7.5 in X 6.5 in General Joseph Warren died a martyr's death in the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775. According to British Gen. Thomas Gage , his death was "worth the death of 500 men." The Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker's Hill by John Trumbull. Lovely ceramic and wood trivet made by the Amish at the Amish Colonies, Iowa, an old and German settlement. Amish woodworking is known to be specialized. The wood is beautiful in this piece. The ceramic shows no flaws of any kind.
