See pics. About the Jacket This is a certified reproduction of a US Navy AN-J-3A Aviator's Leather Flying Jacket by Gentleman's Domain, dated 2002. The original jacket was manufactured by L.W. Foster Sportswear Co. Inc. for the U.S. Government. AN-J-3A Jacket: This is a specific model of an intermediate leather flying jacket primarily used by the U.S. Navy during World War II, starting in 1943. Purpose: The AN-J-3A was intended to be a standardized flight jacket for both the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) and the U.S. Navy (USN), aiming to streamline production and reduce inventory by replacing earlier models like the A-2 and M-422A, respectively.
