The design features a relief of an East Asian woman, possibly a character like Yum-Yum or Katisha from Gilbert and Sullivan's opera The Mikado, set against a fanning parasol background. This is a one-piece brass picture button, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buttons are collectible items, often found in "Division I" collections. Vintage from the 1900s. Measures approximately 36mm. Single Button depicting "Yum Yum" from the Mikado, an 1880's Gilbert and Sullivan opera. The Mikado opened on 14 March 1885, in London, where it ran at the Savoy Theatre for 672 performances.
