New, right off the bookstore shelf - BUT - I have to call it "Like New," because even though it came right off the bookstore shelf, as I lightly perused the contents, I found one strip (1/4") of discoloration, vertically, on the title page. I can't even imagine how this would happen; my guess is a printing error, but it just means that it's a TINY bit less than "New." I call them like I see them.
