Made in Italy in the 1990s

Worn Condition — see photos for some warping on the lenses from the passage of time. this is likely something you could get repaired at an eyeglasses shop. Reflected in price. You can’t tell when you’re wearing them, but holding them in your hand, you can clearly see some of the warping. That said, these are the only edition i can find online at the moment. 

Gucci has produced very few noteworthy frames in the 1990s, and the rare GG 1661/S is one of the most legendary of that era. The GG 1661/S is the smaller version of the Gucci visor shade worn by Aaliyah for her most memorable photoshoot in 2001. Inspired by the Porsche Design 5620 made famous by Yoko Ono, Gucci created its very own moment of glory with Aaliyah in 2001.
