GRANDIOSE 1950's TAUPE FELT LARGE BRIMMED HAT WITH BLACK FEATHERS

This is an outstanding taupe felt hat which will impress anyone. The crown is in the form of a cup, edged in a black intricate band. The crown supports a very wide, curving brim which has been turned up and attached together with a band of beautiful black feathers. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to her keep it in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble. Alternatively, ‘pancake’, ‘platter’, ‘mushroom’ or ‘cart wheel’ hats sat flat atop the head reviving turn of the century styles.
