GLITZY 1950's BLACK FABRIC/LACE WIDE BRIM HAT + RHINESTONES

This is a beautiful wide brim hat from the fabulous fifties'! The hat is made of a stiff structure covered in black fabric and lace. The short, flat topped crown is covered in fabric, and the wide brim's has draped lace on top, and edged in the same fabric as the crown. There are shiny rhinestones scattered on the crown and top of the brim. There its an elastic band attached to the inside to keep the hat in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves.'Pancake’, ‘platter’, ‘mushroom’ or ‘cart wheel’ hats sat flat atop the head reviving turn of the century styles. LABEL; NEW YORK CREATION The New York Creation label was created by a group of well-known designers who wanted to remain anonymous & wanted to support the New York Creation label & keep it competitive with French styles of the era. The label is small, white and blue. Hats bearing this label are highly sought after. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect!
