This is a natural and incredibly rare mined Alexandrite from Russia. There are mines in Sri Lanki, India, Brazil and more, but Russian Alexandrite is arguably the hardest and rarest to come by right now, and has been an absolute favorite and pride of my collection. This stone comes with the original GIA report, and please feel free to ask lots of questions. Please note that the price is reflective of sending this stone for GIA cert.
This is one of my absolute favorites and I want it to go to someone that really appreciates its beauty and value 😊. This stone changes from a bright Aqua Green to a Purplish Red color, observable under incandescent lighting. Current retail on this is between $10,000 and $12,000! Was purchased slightly under that a few years ago. Thanks for looking! I included a listing of a similar stone with GIA currently on sale for $8,000 for comparison.

wow- great !! thx
so lookin at the GiA certificate, there is no value listed or reflecting that stone. I see the Heart shaped stone info.
Can you send me the oval stone info to me?

@fathom73 hi! So that value was from the listing of that heart shaped stone, that was the purchase price from the website selling that particular gemstone. It sounds like you're wanting an appraisal? Those aren't free, although if you're truly interested I can get one, but they are more for insurance purposes rather than determining sale price.

@fathom73 Price/ value of Alexandrite tends to be related to if the stone is green (the most desirable color), noticeably changes color, and is natural just to start.

ah- thanks for the info. What would the price be to get an appraisal?
My BF is very leery with a big $$ purchase…. sorry to take up so much of your time- jj

@fathom73 Not at all, you're fine! I honestly prefer prefer people ask as many questions as they need. Not trying to talk myself out of a sale lol, but I would honestly only want you to make a purchase only if it's something you absolutely love! Natural alexandrite is extremely expensive, and can retail up to the tens of thousands per carat.

@fathom73 if you're looking to save money and don't mind lab grown alternatives, lab grown alexandrite can be a beautiful alternative. There are other gorgeous color changing stones as well such as color changing sapphire (I have some I can tag you in, they're also beautiful, and you can get a bugger stone for less).

@fathom73 If you are looking to invest in natural Alexandrite, the stone listed here is at a great price but again, my advice is purchase what you're in love with! I'll check on the price for an appraisal for you, but I believe they're around $70. I'll also check storage, I might have gotten one for this stone a long time ago.

@fathom73 oh! And to answer you're earlier question, the information about the stone is listed on the GIA report, is there other information you're looking for, besides an appraisal estimate, that is not listed there?
