Georgian enameled pendant made in England.
This a fabulous and extremely rare locket pendant, created in England during the Georgian period, between the 1790 and 1810. The incredible locket pendant show floriated motifs made up with parts in .920/.999 silver, accents of yellow gold and embellished with engine turned guilloche toped with navy blue glass enamel.
The pendant is embellished with European rose cut diamonds, precisely two hundred-eighteen earth mined and consistent from the period with no replacements. The upper part has a rectangular frame with a delicate painting showing a recent born baby in a forest, seated, reclined back and playing with a pigeon. Most probably this piece was for a memento gift-ricordi for a new born baby. The locket is fitted at the reverse with a three barrels hinged door with a glass and a snap closing to hold a picture or a memento and a concealed movable bale to wear in a chain necklace.
