'Breezin' is the fifteenth studio album by jazz/soul guitarist and vocalist George Benson and his first for Warner Bros. Records, released in March of 1976. 'Breezin' marked the beginning of Benson's most successful period commercially, topping the Billboard Pop, Jazz and R&B album charts.
'This Masquerade,' a Leon Russell cover was Benson's first
ever single release and it reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The albums' second single and title track 'Breezin' also did well
on multiple domestic and international charts. Both have become synonymous with the term "easy-listeing" and remain standard rotations in soft-rock/Jazz playlists on radio and streaming platforms.
At the 19th Annual Grammy Awards, the album won "Best Pop Instrumental Performance" for Benson and "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" and was nominated as "Album of the Year."
'Breezin' was certified Triple Platinum, making it one of the most successful jazz albums of all time.
