Records, released in March of 1976. 'Breezin' marked the beginning of Benson's most successful period commercially, topping the Billboard Pop, Jazz and R&B album charts. 'This Masquerade,' a Leon Russell cover was Benson's first ever single release and it reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The albums' second single and title track 'Breezin' also did well on multiple domestic and international charts. Both have become synonymous with the term "easy-listeing" and remain standard rotations in soft-rock/Jazz playlists on radio and streaming platforms. At the 19th Annual Grammy Awards, the album won "Best Pop Instrumental Performance" for Benson and "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" and was nominated as "Album of the Year."
