This is a stunning Freirich Victorian Revival brooch from the 1960s, featuring a large faceted black glass cabochon in a dog-tooth setting on a richly detailed gold-plated filigree base. The brooch has a gently curved shape, giving it beautiful dimension when worn.
The clasp is stamped “Freirich”, a company known for its luxurious designs and French heritage — originally founded as Maison David in France, where they produced jewelry for high-end fashion houses like Dior and Chanel before moving production to the U.S.
There is a small “V”-shaped casting flaw near one corner from the time of manufacture. It does not detract from the overall beauty, and the price has been adjusted accordingly.
