Please review my profile listing about FRAUD and SCAMS! πŸš«πŸš«πŸš«β›” New listings often get people who ask the seller to e m a I l them. The scammer will ask you to contact them. They offer the new seller to hold item or that they will send a check in the mail. Do Not message them! They are scammers! They are trying to steal personal information for identify theft! DO NOT MESSAGE OR DO OUTSIDE TRANSACTIONS. THATS THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT FRAUD! THEY ALWAYS COME UP WITH A SAD STORY TOO! SCAMS!

ambarabella86 As a rule of thumb, if it's too good to be true it is. On new listings, you will receive messages from people wanting you to contact them outside the site. Do not do it. You can report it by hitting the flag icon. It's scammers. If someone really wants your item, they will find the money to pay for it. Nobody's going to pay more than what it's worth especially using a check. Seller's BEWARE! DONT CONTACT PEOPLE OUTSIDE POSHMARK FOR YOUR SAFETY! HAPPY Poshing!

ambarabella86 On my other listing Fraud 🚫 I explain How sophisticated scams are being perpetrated on the site. I probably have 40 people that have come out with their story about new people asking them to message them outside of the platform, and that they're going to send them a check. They offer to send on average $50 above the amount. Never ever accept a check. Do not do outside transactions. That's your best fraud and safety measure.

ambarabella86 If a genuine customer is interested in purchasing your item legitimately, they will purchase it through Poshmark for buyer guarantee. They're not going to pay above market for an item. That should be your first clue that something's stinky. Make sure that you are taking packaging pictures and all identifying marks to items sold under $500 scammers can switch out the item and you would be without your sale. Document everything! Only sell and buy through the site.

ambarabella86 @merle67 I created this post to help new Posh community members not to fall for the check scams and poachers that want to lure Business off the Poshmark app. Please read the comments and ask any questions.

emmab18368 Hi! Another scammer is @muddkids4 she has scammed many people out of our items by requesting a refund and claiming the item never arrives or saying it’s in poor. condition and not returning the item while getting a refund. Do not sell to her, she’s also rude. Spreading awareness because she has scammed many people recently.

ambarabella86 @tayas15 It happens to the best of us! It's real hard when new. There's sophisticated scammers out there that exploit kindness. All we can do is expose the scammers and hope people read the comments. πŸ™

ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @emmab18368 I've had that happen to me too. It's not right!
Jan 26Reply
emmab18368
emmab18368 @ambarabella86 yes! She deleted her listings and changed her name when I called her out on it so hopefully she’ll stop! I just don’t want anyone else to get scammed by her.

ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @emmab18368 Make sure you report to Poshmark as well if you haven't already. That way they can see the pattern.

ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 Hi I was scammed today! The buyer actually has a closet, my question is what legal recourse do I have?
Mar 09Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 I have sent numerous email to poshmark and can’t imagine how this will play out, my husband has been out of work and was really counting on the funds right now
Mar 09Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 not to mention he didn’t want me to sell them in the first place, I only took pictures of the box before I sealed it! Any advice on how to proceed thank you
Mar 09Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson My first question is did you sell the item through Poshmark? Because if you did, then your purchase is covered.
Mar 09Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 Hi Amber yes I did I have pictures of package and receipt from post office, she is showing a totally different package that fit in her mail box when the box weighs 4 1/2 lbs! I don’t see how this can be resolved since poshmark is always protecting the buyer. Thank you so much for answering I am so very upset over this
Mar 09Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson They have a label that's geo tracked. The label has a gps to pin point. If it says delivered to her address then they will settle it. Contact the USPS with the tracking number you have and see if it went to the address. Tell poshmark that she has swapped it out. You sent the package and she received it. You want you eanrings.
Mar 09Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson Report the closet for fraud. You can file a IC3 crime report online and complaint with USPS. However you did your part. Send all pictures you have to poshmark's contact team that you shipped it. also, when you shipped the package, it has a weight. You could prove the package you sent weighed x and she received it.
Mar 09Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson I am sorry the buyer is trying a scam. Get onto that geo tracked label to her home and you can show poshmark. Please let me know what happens! I have another listing that says Fraud 🚫It has all the links you'll need. I started the thread because a scam was ran on me by a buyer named Gordana. She did the same thing and stole a bag. It was a different site so I was in horror of what happened. She eventually got in trouble however! So file reports! keep me posted!

ambarabella86 @ritajetson Thank you so much for sharing your situation and alerting the community! I know you'll win! I had to learn the hard Way about packaging pictures, before, during, and after and picture of label and scan. I wish you all the best and thank you so much for keeping me updated about the situation. Poshmark should do right by you! Praying they do!

Mar 10Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson Thank you so much! I also recommend that depending how Poshmark treats this case that It's considered theft if the item is not accepted and don't receive your payment, You will file a BBB complaint. depending on the price of the item that was sold, Posh usually accommodates both sides. I would truly and aggressively pursue the Options of compliants.
Mar 10Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 Hi Amber filing a complaint is great but I plan on contacting 7 on your side and blowing this up! ritajetson @ambarabella86 Hi Amber your never going to believe this after countless emails I contacted the CEO of Poshmark on Twitter Friday and didn’t expect to hear from him, then yesterday afternoon I received the original box I mailed to the buyer with a label from usps . Shortly after I received a message from the CEO on Twitter asking me for details of the case! The only thing my husband and I can surmise is that poshmark was going to charge her account and she mailed it back
Mar 14Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 My husband and I can only surmise that poshmark was going to charge her and she decided to send it back. There was no communication with customer service except the case was closed. I am going to respond to the CEO and let him know that his interest is greatly appreciated but their customer service is not acceptable. Unfortunately I don’t think I will remain on this site it was extremely stressful going through this!
Mar 14Reply
ritajetson
ritajetson @ambarabella86 people need to know they have to document every step of their sales and hope they aren’t scammed. I want to thank you so very much for your help and using your platform as an ambassador to let as many people know about this, forever grateful 😘
Mar 14Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson Hello, thank you so much for telling us what happened with the case. Customer support is very slow and hard to get a person to respond. Great job you were able to get a response on social media! We typically do that to get their attention. Great news with your box! It is back and you have your item! The customer may have sent to back or perhaps it was USPS that messed up? They do that sometimes. It is rare but happens.
Mar 14Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ritajetson I'm so glad that it worked out! Thank you so much for sharing what happened, that way we can avoid problems. I learned the hard way about packages myself. Now I take pictures of pre-packaging, packaging, in the box, and picture of the weight with my scale so I don't get scammers stealing from me anymore. It's awful that people do this. Thank you so much for your share! β€οΈπŸ’“πŸ’“

Apr 08Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @blessedbe169 Hello, yes it's a scam! New seller selling a 1800 dollar item for $500 is a scam. The reason She didn't want you to buy it through Poshmark is because it goes through Poshmark concierge, and Poshmark would have refunded you if she never shipped it. It is a scammer. Contact your financial institution right away and put in a claim.
Apr 08Reply
blessedbe169
blessedbe169 @ambarabella86 I Did contacted them love and they told me wait till it posted to filed a claim so I’m waiting and I keep trying to contact the Cash-app to see if they can assist me but no one reply yet or refunded me at all if you look at my picture on here in the closet you will see the Seller please check her out and see if she is a scammer or not I think so love
Apr 08Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @blessedbe169 Please put the name of the closet, that way I can report it. Never ever buy from new sellers that want you to pay outside poshmark. They are scammers and they also know they can get away with it. If it's through or a card report it. I am so sorry this happened to you! I wish you had contacted me sooner! I would have advised do not pay for any item outside of Poshmark with a new seller or buyer. They are SCAMMERS. Please let me know how I can help!

Apr 08Reply
ambarabella86

Apr 08Reply
blessedbe169
blessedbe169 @ambarabella86 I agreed Amber knows me I don’t scam right Amber and she said she will report me on here and another selling app That I do and she said she will refund me tonight so let see . Also , I will dispute it with the bank if I don’t see my refund tonight . I don’t scam no one Amber knows me personally I buy from her before @montezbtq
Apr 08Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @montezbtq Do the right thing, and give her back her money and this all will be resolved. Thank you. For the future, requesting that buyers do outside transactions is against poshmark's community guidelines and rules. It violates their policies. You've been informed. perhaps you didn't know, Now you do. It's also unprofessional to use bad language with your customers.
Apr 08Reply

No need to be harassing anyone
Apr 08Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @blessedbe169 I would contact Poshmark with the screenshots of the messages. If she doesn't give you a refund, or the transaction doesn't work out. They need to be made aware of people on here trying to scam and encourage customers to do it off site. I know you didn't know, and now you do. If you ever need help, we can ask for help from other Poshers. I'm here to help prevent scams! Please reach out to me if you're ever doing another purchase in the future!

jac5mclean
jac5mclean Hello, I’m currently being scammed. I sold an item and they claimed it was missing sequence even tho I had proof That there was nothing wrong with the jacket. Poshmark allowed them to return it. And I received it back today and there was a water bottle and a dirty small black jacket in return. I already contacted the police because I was already being harassed by them. Should I continue with my case. I have their address.
Apr 29Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @jac5mclean I would show your side to Poshmark. I know it's troubling that you had a faulty return. I am not understanding the scam. Did you not receive your Item back? They swapped it for something else in the return? The police really can't do anything unless there's something such as a threat, stolen property etc.
Apr 30Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @jac5mclean So they didn't return your item? Contest the case with Poshmark. Show them your evidence. Say if they don't review it properly you'll file a complaint with the BBB. You can turn in the buyer with IC3 crime unit the links in my other post called fraud. Definitely continue to dispute with Poshmark and try all their social media sites such as I G Twitter etc.
Apr 30Reply
jac5mclean
jac5mclean @ambarabella86 yea they didn’t return my item. There was a water bottle and a rag of a jacket that was returned to me. And they got refunded. And they still have my jacket. I’ve already opened up a case with poshmark. And they seem to not care. So I’ll prob need to reach out IC3
May 02Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @jac5mclean try all their social media sites, tell them that they did not return your item. Open a dispute, and also file a complaint with the BBB if they don't investigate it. I am sorry that happened. It just happened to another lady too.

May 30Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @ag031812 Hello, I highly recommend that you reach out to Poshmark direct. State your concerns about the buyer's address. They're supposed to vet that it's legitimate addresses, but scams can happen. So I would contact Poshmark support make sure that they are going to cover the purchase and sale, and make sure that they vet that it's a viable buyer and address

kgimas Hi, I have to separate this into more than 1 comment because of the 500 character limit. Has anyone noticed that there are a whole bunch of new accounts (April, May, June 2021) selling the same designer bags? Some of the different accounts have the same exact wording in the descriptions, some are slightly different. Some say you can "buy direct". I assume that means an offline transaction.

kgimas The prices on these bags are ridiculous. There all around the same price, in the 2 to 3 hundreds. This is for brand new bags like Gucci and the LV Neverfull. I'm no expert on replicas, but something's not right.
Jul 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kgimas Hi yes there's been a huge increase of scammers and replica bags being listed daily! I report them as soon as I see them, the poshmark takes it sweet time to remove them! It's like whack a mole! I just keep reporting it. I hope buyer's don't do off-site. They can screwed that way unless they file with their financial institution.
Jul 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kgimas I have that happen with my listings. They steal my authentic picture and then they're posting a fake for under $300. It's disrespectful and disgusting that they keep stealing my photos! I report it every time though.
Jul 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kgimas They are replicas for sure! the photo rarely matches the item that a person would receive if they even receive it. They're straight-up scammers trying to steal people's information from a label. When you buy something on here, and it's under $500 it posts your name and address on the label. So they're stealing information.
Jul 19Reply
kgimas
kgimas @ambarabella86 "whack a mole" lol! It's so true though. I report them too. It's sad because I really like Poshmark, but I'm getting really nervous to buy anything from here anymore. At least a lot of these ads look so fake that I would never buy from them, but some are harder to identify.
Jul 19Reply
kgimas
kgimas I just want people to know to really check out the seller (or buyer). Read about them, look in their closets, love notes, ask questions about the items that might help you determine if something is real or fake. You know the old saying, "If something seems to good to be true, it probably is"! Thank you for making these listings!
Jul 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kgimas Absolutely! Great advice for people to read! If you buy anything over $500 Poshmark Authenticate team will authenticate it and ship it to you for free! I really recommend people not buy a luxury bag for under 500 especially if claiming the items NWT or New without tags. They are scammers and hustlers. Scams and Fraud information are on two listings because it's this frequent on here! Please be safe and thank you so much for sharing! You're a wonderful Posher!
Jul 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kgimas If you're ever nervous on whether it's a authentic or fake, tag me and I'll check out the listing. I typically can tell if it's a replica or not.

idreamlulu
idreamlulu I sold a bundle of leggings to a scammer. I sent all the correct items but once it was delivered the buyer lied about me sending the wrong items. The buyer had opened the package and switched out the actual leggings I sent with her dirty shirts and opened a case to Poshmark. Poshmark decided to give both of us a refund. I’m extremely annoyed that I was scammed because the buyer got to keep all five leggings and got her money back too. Is there any way I can report her to the authorities?
Jul 27Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @idreamlulu I'm very sorry that that happened to you! That seems to be a new trend the last few years. A switcheroo. The only thing you can do is report her to IC3 crime unit online. The monitary value of that may be less than 500 therefore your best bet is to report her because she may be doing it all the time. report her closet name here so we can avoid her as a Poshmark community. I am so sorry that happened and she'll get caught eventually.

kasacast25 @ambarabella86 I have an expensive item listed and a β€œguest” account purchased it. It’s giving me a bad vibe, I’ve never had a guest purchase an item. Have you heard of anyone getting scammed like this?
Nov 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kasacast25 If it's over $500 it goes through Poshmark concierge. They protect your purchases hun. I would reach out to Poshmark first and see if they can give you a good advice on what to do moving forward.

kasacast25 @ambarabella86 I reached out to Poshmark as soon as I saw who purchased. Thank you so much for your response ❀️
Nov 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kasacast25 I actually just had a buyer by my Louis Vuitton last night, and then they deleted their Poshmark account but it still showed that I needed to ship it. I went ahead and reported the suspicious activity to Poshmark. I canceled the order because it was a deleted account. So please beware of new buyers who are creating accounts, buying your items, and then canceling their accounts. Do not ship under these circumstances.
Nov 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kasacast25 It's better to be safe than sorry. I have sold to new buyers numerous times, and did not have issues. However, anything that is expensive, please reach out to Poshmark first to make sure they will cover the transaction if something goes wrong.

kelsknutson I purchased two coats 10 days ago that i am now seeing a bunch of same listing were also sold but those listings are deleted off posh sold listings, one shows delivered and it never was and i cant even look at the listing because it has been removed even though i purchased and the other shows in transit but usps shows delivered, I have contacted poshmark in the problems with order 6 times and order not received for the other jacket and they have not responded to any of them?!
Nov 28Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kelsknutson hello, I'm very sorry to hear that you have experienced such a terrible seller. I would highly encourage you to contact Poshmark on their Instagram, and Twitter pages. write that you're a buyer, and exactly what happened. You bought several items and didn't receive them nor a response from Poshmark support. I had luck with their Instagram via messaging. Plan B, you can also open a case with your financial institution and explain what happened.
Nov 28Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kelsknutson if Poshmark support doesn't respond to you, tell them that you're going to open a case with your financial institution. That's another way you can get your money back. I know that they are inundated with the holiday shopping, but you should have heard something by now. write them via here, Instagram, and on Twitter. Make the comments public on the Twitter, and somebody will get back to you.
Nov 28Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kelsknutson I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not the standard selling buying experience. Please keep us posted on what happens! Hoping you get a response soon!
Nov 28Reply
kelsknutson
kelsknutson @ambarabella86 thanks for your helpful responses, I definitely did not know to contact them through those avenues. I ended up contacting then through an email I had received for a different item and pasted the order number on it and received refunds for both quickly, it was like the order page and options were compromised too and they maybe weren't even receiving all of my delivery inquiries or order not received?
Nov 28Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @kelsknutson Most welcome! Please go through where you purchased items, and you can click problem with existing order. Contact Poshmark through the purchase area. So go to your closet, purchases, and open an inquiry contact Poshmark. That should help!
Nov 28Reply
kelsknutson
kelsknutson @ambarabella86 I did that and they never responded to either listing and I contacted at least a dozen times over 10 days. one was listed as delivered and I did order not recieved and other was still in transit but showed up as delivered by usps, so I contacted through a different email and was refunded almost immediately. thanks for your time and help!

luckydream All sellers please don’t sell to buddy1024 to prevent what happened to me to all of you. This person is a new user offered $75 for Ugg Adirondacks 7.5 on Dec 19th when I had them listed for double. I accepted in the holiday spirit, packaged it and shipped out Mon Dec 20th afternoon. The buyer then commented on Tuesday that they noticed it would be the wrong size and wanted to return. I said that I already shipped it out and that’s when the flood of a spam like messages appeared.

luckydream Their phone was hacked, their bank will be investigating. By the way they stated that they received a refund from their bank. Their messages were filled with errors or just didn’t make sense and name calling. Then they opened up two return cases all with different stories, not working, fake, wrong color.
Jan 04Reply

luckydream After over a week of waiting to hear posh approved their case because they were not able to determine authenticity. I actually had these uggs authenticated and included this during the case and they still sided with the buyer. This buyer kept threatening to prosecute me they were fakes and even involved her husband on the deluge of name calling and false accusations in their comments.

Please file this person's information and as much evidence as possible to Report this user. we don't need people like this scamming. This alleged faulty return should be reported also with Poshmark on all their social media accounts including Insta and Twitter. Ask to speak to a supervisor. Video the box and unboxing of the returned items.
Jan 04Reply

ambarabella86 @luckydream Please video the unboxing of the item, so that you can have video evidence of the box before it's opened and video the opening of the box to see how it's returned. ambarabella86 @luckydream I'm so sorry that that happened! That was terrible. clearly they use the item and you need to file a complaint. Tell them that you want the price of what you sold They can credit it! Show them it was used and messed up! ambarabella86 @luckydream That's what we call a faulty return. That is when a buyer uses an item, and returns it damaged. They bought the item, used it, and now has made the reselling price hard to sell. Fraudulent and faulty returns are prohibited. It says it on their Poshmark site, that if the buyer uses the item and damages it in any way, that they are not going to get a full refund. Report buyer too.

ambarabella86 🚨Ladies, My first word of advice is if it sounds too good to be true, it is! Don't buy off site! That will never change. If someone is willing to pay you more for your item then what it's worth, then that's a scam. If they want to send you a check, it's a scam! Traders, please be careful! Look for at least 10 positive trade feedbacks and three referrals. Do not just assume because they have five star positive feedback that they are a good seller or trade partner.

handbaghobbyist I'm glad other sellers are talking about documenting their packing process. My sister and I began documenting everything several years ago, and we recently had to share evidence with Poshmark and USPS. The scammer got a free item and a refund, which you think would make them quietly move on to their next victim, but she resorted to name-calling and gaslighting when she learned that Poshmark released my funds for the "missing" item.
Aug 19Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @handbaghobbyist Unfortunately, the scammers get better and better at it. I believe this site does watch reported buyers. So hopefully we can have a better system to help sellers and buyers avoid this painful process. Documenting and weighing the items helps tremendously. I’m sorry that happened to you both.

Jan 24Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @shaynezammiello Hello, I hope I’m not too late to advise you. Do not take any checks or payments outside of the Poshmark app. It’s a common scam and you will not get a legitimate payment.
Jan 24Reply
ambarabella86
ambarabella86 @shaynezammiello Scammers constantly send a message to contact them outside the app with willing to pay more or benefit to allure a sale outside the app. If you do a sale or transaction outside the place you lose your guarantee if something goes wrong. They also steal information. So please be careful of those customers wanting to conduct activity willing to pay various ways outside the app. They usually steal your info, your items, and there’s little that can be done.
