Framed CAPE ELIZABETH Lighthouse, Maine Completed Cross Stitch

This is a GORGEOUS depiction of Cape Elizabeth in Maine. The stitches are VERY nice. Any lighthouse collector will love adding this to their collection! This measures 14" x 17" x 1". I believe the frame is oak. It is covered with glass. It has been professionally framed and matted. A sawtooth hanger is at the top, and two felt pads are on the bottom to protect your wall. The matting is navy blue with a thinner gold interior mat accents it perfectly. The total stitched area is 8.5" x 11" overall. The solid stitched lighthouse area is 8.5" x 9.5". The lighthouse has sweet flowers at the front and sits on a rolling hill. Here is a brief history of this historic lighthouse! Once twin lights, the Victorian metal tower at Cape Elizabeth is known as an American icon, painted by artists, and for its harrowing shipwreck tales. To help mark the entrance to Portland Harbor, two rubblestone towers were built in Cape Elizabeth in 1828 – Maine’s first "twin" lighthouses. It’s said that the children of the keeper draped the towers in black after the news of President Lincoln’s assassination.
