This is a custom framed page from a McCall Quarterly magazine that was published sometime during the 1920s.
The illustration consists of 4 French-inspired, tastefully developed slip-on dress designs like the ones you see on Downtown Abbey.
The page is made of craft-weight paper that is beginning to tan from age
The oversized magazine page measures 13” x 17”
The models are printed in vivid colors
The printed descriptions are clear/legible
There are 4 pattern designs with a description for each
The old-fashioned, recycled frame is made of wood. It has a white-wash / ivory finish and there is a thin gold line inside the perimeter of the frame
The mat is cream / buff with white bevel
The entire piece is covered with clear glass in front and has a sealed dust cover on the back
There are a few slight imperfections on the page – 1. a faded horizontal crease in the middle of the page – 2. blue ink-rub on the upper left of the page – 3. small vertical tear on the bottom right of the page. Considering the age of the page, it’s in good shape
This piece would enhance any décor, like a lady's dressing room or closet, sewing room, powder room, etc.
Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind, tasteful, inexpensive piece of art.
NOTE: I "live and think green", so I re-use materials (like custom frames, and out-of-print images/prints) to create beautiful custom-framed, one-of-a-kind pieces. Whatever I use may not be cosmetically perfect, but close enough to make an attractive piece of art.
