“Forrest” 1970s Original Abstract Landscape

“Forrest,” by abstract expressionist artist, Ellen Reinkraut, has an impressionistic sensibility. The painting is in lush hues of teals, blues, greens, purples, and pale peaches. It is atypical of a forest scene but quite typical of Reinkraut’s work in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The painting draws the eye into a mysterious but, at the same time safe, lush space. It is as if something wondrous is waiting on the other side of the woods.
