Flared Etched Ethiopian Silver Cross Pendant

Handmade in Ethiopia. Authentic. Silver. My dad collected these when he was in Africa in the 60s. Beautiful in a shadow box or around the neck. Christian crosses have been handmade for centuries in Ethiopia for use in religious processions and in daily life. ‘Neck’ crosses have been documented in the country as early as the fifteenth century. These are 19th century artifacts called ‘pendant crosses.’ Handmade and forged from silver; crosses such as these are made to be worn and cherished.
