First American Edition, First Printing of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Silmarillion."

1977, 1st Edition of Tolkien's Prequil to "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" was written over a long period of time and published four years after the author's death by Houghton Mifflin. The jacket is not in great shape but the book itself is still tightly bound, free of stains and discoloring and rich in turquoise cloth color with gilt and silver foil lettering and motif. It still has a complete, crisp foldout map of "Beleriand and the Lands to the North." The last picture shows some edges nibbled by earwigs. 365 pages
